Terrazas has found, in this Malbec, a balance of deep character more typical of French Malbec and berry brightness, more typical of Argentina. What a great combination! I found real tasting enjoyment the musky aromas of plum and ripe fig, wood smoke, dark chocolate and a signature array of briary, herbal grassy notes that gives Malbec a distinctive character. A floral rose flower fragrance added to the bouquet. A dense,full-flavor of darker fruit seems comfortable with a tannic thickness that never gets excessive. This is a wine of young character that has great aging potential. Give it a few years in your cellar and you will be enchanted by its maturity. However, I like how approachable it is now and I’ll pair it this summer with a grilled tenderloin topped with melted blue cheese. - Bill McCleary
