A certified Sommelier, Amy comes to us from Oregon, where she spent most of her career in the restaurant industry with an emphasis on Fine Dining. Her knowledge and pairing expertise doesn’t stop at wine, but includes spirits and beer, too! She’s a dog lover and immediately knew that Surdyk’s was a great fit for her when she was warmly greeted by the office dogs, Corzo and Chorizo, during her interview. Beyond wine and dogs, her passions include cooking, yoga, and spending time outdoors – she’s especially looking forward to exploring our lakes and rivers on her stand-up paddleboard!

Amy takes a stab at "The Wine Questionnaire" by Jay McInerney and tells us about her best experience with wine, how her time in Oregon influenced her love of wine, and when it comes down to it, she loves all the wine world has to offer! (How to choose?!)
Your Best Wine Memory
The night my guests poured me a glass EACH of their DRC Richebourg and Chateau d’Yquem.
I was their server.
Burgundy or Bordeaux
Burgundy. It is more versatile for pairing with a variety of foods, but there are always exceptions.
New World or Old World
Your Favorite Region
Tough question. I love wines from around the world, of course, but I love Willamette Valley. (And Rhone. And Loire. And Mosel.)
The Best Wine You’ve Ever Tasted
The 1995 Domaine de la Romanee Conti Richebourg (& Chateau d’Yquem) mentioned above.
Your Favorite Winemaker or Vineyard
I love Lingua Franca wines from Willamette Valley, Oregon. They truly show a sense of place with minimal intervention.
What wine do you wish you could taste?
Chateau d’Yquem from my birth year.
Every wine collection should include:

What country would you visit for its vineyards?
If you could only drink one wine for the rest of your life, what would it be?
