Forget about the impossibility of “California Champagne” (Champagne is a place in France-NOT a type of wine). The truth of this wine is it undergoes its secondary fermentation in the bottle (the way the good stuff does.) The flavors show hints of peach and strawberry that suggest sweetness, but stop well short of sugary. This is a lovely bubbly for brunches by itself or as the base for mimosas or other similar cocktails.
