The ninth release in Glengyle’s popular Cask Strength series is a 100% sherry matured single malt, bottled in January 2023 at a robust cask strength of 57.5%. The sherry casks have added spicy and fruity notes to Kilkerran’s coastal and smoky character. Peat smoke on the nose is balanced by aromas of toasted marshmallows, smoked ham, dark chocolate, and clove. The coastal influence comes to the fore on the palate with notes of sea salt and fishing nets, alongside sweet hints of candied apple and toffee. The sweet peat influence remains throughout the finish.
