The Hedges Family Estates began in 1987 by buying and selling wines from the US to foreign countries. Since Tom Hedges and his
wife Anne-Marie were based in Washington, it was easy to focus on this young and vibrant wine region. They quickly settled in the now famous Red Mountain region, planting their first 40 acres in 1989, and almost immediately were recognized for the
quality of their wines. This wine shows why
we love Washington wines and clearly is
assembled to show complexity rather than
simple appeal. The Cabernet Sauvignon
plays the core role with ripe, slightly leather fruit and tannins. The Merlot gives a darker, silkier flavor, with the Syrah adding generous depth and spice. The estate
vineyards are all bio-dynamically farmed,
assuring the health of the vineyards. This is a versatile red that will pair with savory pork dishes, rich stews, or an aged cheddar.
