Matured in American oak and Oloroso sherry casks, this sublime 19-year-old whisky is the epitome of an aged Ardbeg. On the nose, faint waves of scented woodsmoke mingle with sea spray and pine resin. On the palate, a rush of rich, sappy textures is followed moments later by classic sweet smokiness. A long, unhurried finish carries bitter almonds and clove in its wake, before slowly drifting away.
