100% Montepulciano from a single block of vines that simply doesn't ripen enough for red wine, but is perfect for rosato. Cerasuolo (pronounced chair-a-sway-low) d'Abruzzo is one of the only DOC regions in Italy that is dedicated to rosato/rose style wines. The deep pink color is achieved after only 20 minutes on the skins (!), then gently pressed; only free-run juice is used, no late-press juice that might contain bitter flavors. This a bold style of rosato that can handle rich seafood, poultry, and even lighter cuts of meat.
