Born of non-GMO AC Hazlet winter rye and heirloom corn planted and harvested by head distiller Michael Swanson on his family farm, Roknar Minnesota Rye is milled, fermented, and distilled in very small batches, then aged for 16 months in 15-gallon charred oak barrels and finished in Cognac casks. With a mash bill of 80% rye, 10% corn, and 10% malt barley, Far North aims to establish Minnesota rye as a regional style in the spirit of Pennsylvania and Maryland-style ryes.
