Bodegas Muga is located in the heart of Spain’s Rioja region. The vineyards re located in the prime Rioja Alta district. While Tempranillo is the core grape variety, Garnacha (Grenache), Mazuelo (Carignan) and Graciano are also added for complexity and age ability,. Rioja’s are generally among the most versatile wines for pairing with food and this bottling is certainly no exception. The body is medium with both fresh and dried fruit flavors. The spice and vanilla flavors are bolstered by firm but not over powering tannins. This wine will age well for another decade so be sure to get more than one.
