Not long ago, Turley wines were only available to those lucky enough to have secured a spot on their mailing list or at high end restaurants. During our Splurge Sale, we have the chance to offer a limited selection their stunning wines from the 2018 vintage. From 50 distinct vineyards across California’s wine regions, Larry Turley's eponymous label specializes in Zinfandel and "Petite Syrah," each bottle offering a master class on California’s soil and climate.

2018 TURLEY "ESTATE VINEYARD" ZINFANDEL

(Napa Valley, California)

This vineyard sits in the backyard of the winery and family home. The 2018 celebrates the 20th vintage of this head-trained, dry-farmed Zinfandel, which are certified organic. Vibrantly colored and deeply aromatic, the ’18 Estate Zin is true Napa Valley elegant opulence.

Loads of fruit and earth on the nose, along with dried flowers, cedar and tobacco, reminiscent of Châteauneuf-du-Pape and other wines of the southern Rhône. The multidimensional palate has more structure and grip than years past, as well as a bit of gravel dust on the finish.

2018 TURLEY "PESENTI VINEYARD" ZINFANDEL

(Paso Robles, California)

This certified organic, estate-owned vineyard was planted in the 1920s. Though the vines are head-trained and dry-farmed, the soil plays the most important role in distinguishing this vineyard on the west side of Paso Robles.

The wines have a brightness, with chalk and floral characteristic aromas unique to the site, and to Zinfandel in general. Fragrant red fruits, black raspberry, chalk dust, piquant spices and wildflowers all flourish on the nose. Lush yet linear on the palate, with fresh, lively acidity and profound depth.

2018 TURLEY "CEDARMAN" HOWELL MOUNTAIN ZINFANDEL

(Napa Valley, California)

Cedarman is a proprietary blend of certified organic fruit from some of the highest elevation plantings on Howell Mountain.

Primarily Zinfandel, with a small amount of Petite Syrah as well, resulting in a truly powerful, dense and wild wine, long on flavor. Notes of wild berries, cracked pepper, game, pine forest—the perfect wine for cabin-goers and cabin-fever-havers alike.

For fans of bold and full flavor, the wine has tons of brambly fruits and signature mountain brawn.

2018 TURLEY "HAYNE VINEYARD" PETITE SYRAH

(Napa Valley, California)

Otty Hayne planted the Hayne Petite Syrah in 1953 while he was home from college visiting his grandfather. (Which is, by the way, Turley's preferred spelling of Petite Sirah.)

All head-trained, dry-farmed and organic, this vineyard is one of the most exceptional sites in California. The wine is powerful and inky in its youth, and becomes more feminine and refined with age. Likely to outlive us all.

Black plum, black cherry, graphite, cocoa, freshly turned earth, petrichor, ink, and gravel dust. Deep and intense yet extremely well-balanced and approachable.
