September, also known as my favorite time of the year. It’s still officially summer, but the signs of fall are starting to seep in. Warm afternoons slip into evenings that require a sweater. Yellow school buses lumber through my neighborhood, practicing their routes, which begin next week. After what felt like an endlessly hot summer, the weather has changed to what I find myself repeatedly calling “lovely.” It is a magical, transitional time. The perfect wine for such a season? My answer is rosé. Many would argue that every season is rosé season, and I agree, but this fleeting time saying goodbye to summer is when I believe rosé shines brightest.

CHATEAU TRIANS ROSÉ

(Côteaux Varois en Provence) This dry rosé comes from a small, 18th century estate in Provence. A blend of Grenache, Cinsault, and Syrah. Maceration develops its soft, coral color. Plenty of red fruit, botanical, and mineral notes found on the nose and the palate. Elegant, yet not simple. Certified Organic.
