Description
With the ABV sitting at 11% - (11%!) the Hexamer Quarzit is barely off-dry (dry table wines like Sauvignon Blanc start at 12%). It is the wine’s inherent fruitiness (apricot, lychee, lemon mousse), showcased by that hint of sweetness, which makes this such a versatile food partner. The grapes come from vineyards owned by Petra and Harald Hexamer in the storybook town of Meddersheim in Germany’s Nahe region. The wine is named for the quartzite and red slate filled soil which supplies both verve and minerality to this Riesling’s fruit notes.
