Description
Verdejo is a commonly planted grape in the Rueda region of Spain, and its juice has a body similar to Sauvignon Blanc, but with more intense flavors. This organic wine does not disappoint in delivery of intensity: it has a bracing acidity, floral and herbaceous aromas, and flavors of caper berry, melon, apple, and grapefruit pith. The finish is bone dry, austere and full of minerals. Lots of personality! Did I mention that this wine is also Vegan and comes in a liter size?! Win! Win! While this wine can definitely be enjoyed as a standalone, I think it prefers the company of food. Grilled veggies, fish tacos, Spanish cheeses, white bean and fennel salad, baked walleye with fresh lemon and dill. Many savory choices. Cheers! - Brian Krause, Surdyk's Consultant
