Description
One of the most iconic estates in the Northern Rhone, Christine Vernay took over the property some twenty years ago from her father (who saved the Condrieu appellation) and grandfather who created the estate. Now certified organic, they make some of the best wines the region has to offer. The vineyard site sits at 300m, and though just outside of the Condrieu appellation, is composed of the same granitic soils that make up the best sites. All grapes are hand-harvested, and after fermentation, aging takes place in large wooden vats. This is all Condrieu-like but without the loftier price tag.
