Description
Much of the world’s best Chardonnay comes from cool climates. It’s easy to forget how far south Tasmania is, so far that it’s influenced by Antarctic currents. This one hails from the emerging region of the Tamar Valley, home to some of the most exciting winemaking in Australia. Long gone is the time of jammy oak bombs. This wine (and many others from the “New Australia”) is bright, zesty and full of melon and nectarine notes overlain with fresh lemon and citrus. Just a touch of oak (you’ll never taste it) to smooth the edges and you get a delicious Chardonnay that defies stereotypes of the grape. We recommend you secretly pour it for your Anything But Chardonnay friends and watch them be so, so wrong…
