Description
The 2015 vintage in Bordeaux was a roller coaster, starting with heat and drought in the early summer, that gave way to a damp August that refreshed the vines and perfect weather at harvest. A higher proportion of clay in the soil helps retain water, so areas downriver suffered while Graves and Pessac-Leognan came out relatively unscathed. This is why we selected this wine, as it was finely made when it was young but now shows a bit of maturity and the finesse that will be the hallmark of the vintage. It's a classic Bordeaux from the Dourthe family, whose other properties include Chateau Belgrave in the Haut-Medoc and Chateau Le Boscq in Saint-Estephe.
