Description
"This bottling is produced by Alain Brumont, the crusading, dividing, controversial “leader” of the renaissance of tannat-based wines in France’s southwest corner. Single-handedly Brumont has changed the wine-making landscape in this often forgotten corner just the south of Bordeaux. Tannat is a grape that gets its name, in part, from the heavy tannins it provides to its wines. In Madiran, where tannat thrives, historically the wines were tough and hard, and frankly not very consumer friendly. He has change all that, with his Montus bottling leading the way. Bouscasse is not his “second wine” but rather a separate property that makes a softer style wine than most. Pair this with cassoulet and other strong dishes." -Andy Hall, Surdyk's Wine Buyer & Consultant
