The label says it all: this wine comes from the treacherous slopes of the very active Mount Etna volcano. While some of the most well-known Etna wines are the reds from the north slope of the caldera, the Nicolosi family has been a pioneer of the eastern slope and the ideal aspects it offers the Catarratto grape, which never gets preferred position in the north.
