This wine pays homage to the best parts of California, the foggy Central Coast & the continental Sierra Nevadas. This wine is a spin off of my favorite Sicilian blends which are influenced also by the sea and mountains. The Pinot Noir comes from a hillside block at the Bassi Vineyard and the Nero d'Avola comes from a young, head trained vineyard farmed by friends in the Sierra Foothills, named Peeps Vineyard. The wine fermented with native yeast in 1 ton boxes with 50% whole cluster. The wine was pressed at dryness in our wooden basket press and then aged in old french oak barrels. The wine was racked for the first time to blend + bottle, without fining or filtration, with minimal sulfur used. 144 cases produced. #chillablered
