Description
The Silva family have been pioneers of grape growing in the Colchagua Valley since 1892, and today remain 100% family-owned. Now with a state of the art winery, the fifth generation has complete control from vineyard, to winery, to table. Their Cuvee Colchagua is a beautifully made wine of 100% Carmenere grapes from two estate vineyards. Half the wine is aged in oak for 8 months. Vibrant dark red color, the nose is black cherry and red fruit with notes of baking spices and subtle anise. The palate starts with lush fruit, smooth tannins, and notes of mocha, followed by bright acidity that creates a long finish. Great pairings include grilled steak with Chimichurri sauce, grilled chicken, tuna, or swordfish. Support a truly great family business and at the same time reward yourself with a world-class Chilean wine! - Drew Fuller
