Black Tot Rum is a tribute to July 31st, 1970, known as “Black Tot Day” when the British Navy ceased the centuries-old tradition of giving a daily “tot” (2.4 oz) of rum to sailors. This day from now on is known as Black Tot Day. Elixer Distillers researched and recreated a rum typical of that classic daily tot. The new Black Tot has the same core of 3 Caribbean rums most typical of historic tots. It is a rich, golden marriage of fruity Barbadian, full-bodied Guyanese and vibrant Jamaican Rums. Unsweetened, non-chill filtered and bottled at a higher proof (46.2%) traditional of a sailor’s daily ration. Aged in ex-bourbon barrels, and matured 100% in the Caribbean.
