Toasted Head winery takes its name from the practice of tasting not just the sides of the barrels they use for aging their wines, but the tops (aka the head) and the bottoms, as well. Logic tells you this will be an oaky wine, and it is, but it is well done, and here's why. They specifically sourced Russian River Valley grapes for this, and the quality of the fruit shows.
