Burgundy Rouge can be a challenge. Let me help by suggesting that this Pinot from Rodet is a great buy and provides loads of flavor. It is a 2015 vintage… almost a perfect growing season with very ripe, healthy grapes from the Domaine de la Bressande vineyards. The soil is some of the oldest in the Mercurey appellation, a historic and respected wine region! It is 100% Pinot Noir with a brilliant ruby-garnet color. Flavors are solid black and red berry and plum with dried fruit taste and a toasted wood aroma. You will find savory herbs and dried mushrooms as well as subtle smoke wrapped in a soft tannic finish. Eight months in French oak
barrels adds good structure and maturity. Old World winemaking restraint makes this Pinot Noir a fine food wine paired with grilled salmon or pork roast. On sale in a display box in aisle 5 or on the website HERE.
