Berger Gruner Veltliner

We have carried this wine for well over a decade and considering its incredible value and unique bottle, I’m constantly surprised to find there are white wine
drinkers who still haven’t tried this. So let’s begin at the beginning. Gruner Veltliner is a grape variety common to Austria. It’s like Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Blanc, except that it ages well. Even more importantly, it has a chemistry that makes it a great match with hard to pair vegetables like asparagus or artichokes. Happily, this bottling has a loyal following, but winemaker Erich Berger refuses to let this wine coast. There is never a bad time to try this wine for the first time. Bright citrus flavors are accented by hints of white pepper. This is that perfect wine that invites you to enjoy it casually and then proceeds to impress right to the last drop. – Roger Clark, Wine Consultant
