In France, it is a tradition to burn logs of cherry wood sprinkled with wine on Christmas Eve. Of course, we have plenty of wine from every area of France, but we suggest you drink it instead. Something even more fun to enjoy around the fire is one of our adult punches from our holiday entertaining menu, such as Pear and Cranberry Prosecco Spritzer, Rum Punch with Citrus and Luxardo, and Sparkling Ginger Apple Cider with Bourbon. They generously serve 20 to 30 guests and are sure to keep you in good spirits. The French also enjoy their meal after mass, and in most homes include decadent foie gras. In some parts of France, they also indulge in 13 different desserts. In Italy, another well-known wine-producing area, they take a lighter approach. On Christmas Eve, they abstain from eating meat at celebrations and turn to their love of seafood. Many cities partake in the Feast of the Seven Fishes. In Argentina, they toast the season at midnight and follow it with a barbecue featuring wonderful cuts of beef. We suggest trying one of our many Malbecs from the region, with their rich fruit flavor and smoky finish, paired with our medium-rare Beef Tenderloin served with Saffron Aioli, Pomegranate, and Watercress, or Horseradish Cream with Roasted Peppers and Arugula. The primary export of Chile is salmon. Pair a glass of Chilean Sauvignon Blanc with our Poached Salmon with Mustard- Dill- Tarragon Sauce and watercress to add some color to your holiday meal.
