Loewen Longuicher Herrenberg Riesling Kabinett

$18.99

Description

The Carl Schmitt-Wagner Winery has a long and unique history. They purchased vineyards in Longuich, Germany from Napoleon Bonaparte in 1804, previously cultivated by the Benedictine Convent of St. Maximin. The vineyards lie on very steep hillsides with 60-degree inclines overlooking the Mosel River and contain some of the oldest, ungrafted vines in all of Germany, planted with Riesling in 1896 and 1907! Flavors are juicy and clean, with a hint of lime zest and white stone fruits adding complexity to the balanced and moderate sweetness, where the minerals and spices dance playfully on your palate.
