Description

(Cotes de Thou - Languedoc) Rosé wines have grown in popularity for the last 7-10 years, and this trend shows no sign of slowing down. The 2013 vintage rosés have been particularly well received, whether they hail from France, Austria, Spain, Argentina, Portugal, or the U.S. In addition to diverse geography, rosé wines are made frommany different red grapes. At Surdyk’s alone, we have rosés of Cabernet Franc,Carignan, Pinot Noir, Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, Malbec, Mourvedre, Garnacha, Zweigelt, St. Laurent, and Tempranillo. VillaViva Rosé is made from 100% Carignan, and is a beautifully pale wine produced from vineyards in the south of France facing the Mediterranean Sea. Located in the Cotes de Thau appellation along a famous string of lakes, the vineyards are planted on fossilized oyster beds, limestone, gravel and quartz soil, and benefit from a sunny and dry climate perfect for rosé production. The aromatic nose shows lush strawberry and raspberry fruit, while the palate is bursting with freshness and vibrant acidity creating a full and well-balanced wine that ends with a long and spicy finish. Serve chilled anytime or as an aperitif at your next get together.
