New to Surdyk’s and new to the world (debut in 2014), this is a delicious white of French grape varietals sourced from Santa Barbara County. Viognier, Rousanne, Grenache Blanc, and Chardonnay all blend together to offer an aromatic wine with a juicy flavor that promotes tangerine citrus, ripe melon and peach notes. A nutty and honeyed layer brightens the fruit and adds complexity. This remains a dry white yet you will find a soft creamy texture that’s a perfect balance with these ripe flavors. The winemaking team behind this believes that great wine is all about “tension” and the elusiveness of this characteristic, and from that belief derived the wine’s name. The 2014 Tenshen earned 92 points from Wine Spectator, high praise for a first release. Enjoy all the pleasure in this delicious wine.
