Taste this wine in-store March 3 & 4 with owner Paolo Lucchetti • Over the years, Surdyk’s has bonded into friendships with winemakers through their wine business. One of these associations is with the families of Mario and Paolo Lucchetti from Le Marche, Italy. The Lucchetti’s grow Lacrima grapes and make a delicious red wine from this local varietal. The mature grapes sweat droplets of juice, which resemble tears (lacrima in Italian).
The Lacrima di Morro d’Alba appellation is close to the Adriatic Sea, with its cooling breezes. These folks go back generations with winemaking experience and talent. Deep ruby in color, this dry red offers a heady bouquet of violet flowers and wild strawberries. Ripe mulberry and pomegranate fruit notes provide fresh, vivid flavors. Limited tannin is soft, allowing for a smooth, ready-to-drink texture. A rich, red Italian wine well-made and bargain priced during our Spring Sale!
