This weekend, we’re tasting Belgian beers from 11 am – 7 pm and these four delicious beers are featured. Stop in and taste them!
Duvel: A strong golden ale, Duvel is one of the most recognizable names in Belgian beer. The aromas you can find in this beer tend to be citrus, mostly grapefruit which comes from the hop variety used. The taste of the beer is balanced with a touch of spiciness, you can thank the yeast for that. It is bubbly, slightly fruity, and the perfect beer for a patio weekend.
La Chouffe: An unfiltered blonde beer that has been refermented in the bottle. The mouthfeel is smooth and the aroma is fruity. This beer has been brewed with coriander and a touch of hops. If you don’t try this beer for its flavor try it for the hard to miss, adorable, Achouffe dwarves! Pairs well with chicken, tuna, asparagus, mussels, and ginger.
Maredsous Brune: This Belgian style is unique because it is a dark beer, yet surprisingly light and drinkable. Maredsous Brune is a Belgian malt lover’s perfect beer. It has an abundant taste of caramel, coffee, nutty characteristics, and roasted malts. It finishes slightly bitter and pours a luscious red-brown.
Liefman’s Cuvee Kriek Brut: This beer is a blend of Liefmans Goudenband and Oud Bruin. The aroma is overwhelmingly sweet cherries. The first taste is slightly sour that transitions into a sweet finish. The body is full and perfectly balanced. Sip this with a cheese plate filled with cherries, raspberries, dark chocolate, almonds, and blue cheese.
