So here we are smack in the middle of Still Winter with blustery snow falling rapidly and icy roads to contend with. If we are honest – no one is really surprised. It happens to us here in Minnesota every year. That being said, there are two ways to approach the situation.
Get mad and whine.
Or embrace it and wine.
We are going to eventually get to Road Construction, that magical season when only a well-chilled crisp white or rosé will do. Here are a few of our Wine Consultants picks for Still Winter drinking:
Andy Hall + St. Cosme 2016 Cotes-du-Rhone
Syrah from one of Rhone Valley’s masters.
Noelle Starr + Chappellet Mountain Cuvee
A deep, dark, decadent blend from one of Napa’s pioneers.
Bill McCleary + Castello di Ama Chianti Classico
This and some spaghetti with meat sauce and you’ll forget about the weather.
Jim Larson + Ramos Pinto 10 year Tawny
Rich and opulent, this pairs perfectly with a never-ending winter.
